Team v Blackburn
Randolph
Oxford Collins Oggy Cresswell
Obiang Noble
Moses Payet Valencia
Carroll

I've gone for two midfielders instead of the three as Blackburn all over the shop at the mo, need to attack them from the first whistle.

Antonio looks knackered, I'd start with Valencia off Carroll

Experimental stuff is all well and good but what is the word on JOB

Not sure Valencia is the man for a wet Sunday in Blackburn
Antonio certainly is if he is ready to go fitness wise
Kouyate HAS to play
Hopefully the likes of Lanzini & Sahko are ready for the bench

Re: Team v Blackburn
Sakho wont be back until the end of the month Sven according to our Treatment Room update.

Sakho is not far behind him but he needs more work because he has been out for around ten weeks so he will have a period of extra fitness work under his belt.

We hope to see him back in action by the end of the month.

So close to having Payet and Lanzini on the same pitch again, can't fucking wait.

Re: Team v Blackburn
There's probably a lot more chance of Antonio starting this weekend than Valencia. Enner had to be helped from the bench near the end of the game yesterday, whilst 7-8 days should be more than enough rest for Michail.

Re: Team v Blackburn
I'd probably go

Randolph

Oxford - Collins - Ogbonna

Antonio - Kouyate - Noble - Cresswell

Payet

Carroll - Emenike

Subs
Valencia
Moses
Lanzini
Song
Obiang
Pike
Adrian

Re: Team v Blackburn
I think three at the back would be perfect for this game and if one of the three gets injured we can always switch Antonio back

Stubbo 4:46 Sun Feb 14

Randolph

Antonio Collins Ogbonna Cresswell

Noble Obiang Kouyate

Moses Carroll Payet

Is the team I'm expecting.

that would be a very interesting lineup to watch, but a lot of responsibility on Oxford even if it is a championship side. would still like to see it though

Seems okay I just twitch a little bit when I remember the last time we played three centre backs in the FA Cup.

So is JOB out for sure?

What about kouyate?

solidbond 6:01 Sun Feb 14
Re: Team v Blackburn
Takashi mick 4:45 .to suggest 3 at the back is bad but to then suggest dropping Antonio back to play as the 3rd centre half is worse.

Claret Hoop 6:18 Sun Feb 14
Re: Team v Blackburn
I think he's suggesting that Antonio could drop back to RB in a back four?

FWIW I'd go:

------------------Randolph
Antonio---Collins---Ogbonna---Cresswell
--------------Noble-----Obiang
----Moses-------Payet------Kouyate
-------------------Carroll

SUBS: Adrian, Oxford, Song, Valencia, Emenike, Browne, Lanzini (if fit, or Parfitt-Williams).

I'd agree with that team. RB is obviously the problem & even if Lanzini is fit, I wouldn't think it sensible to play him for a full 90mns

Song & Emineke were huge disappointments against Norwich considering they hadn't played in the energy sapping midweek cup game

Song was unable to get a pass right while Emineke made CFC look like an accomplished striker!

Grumpster 8:56 Sun Feb 14
Re: Team v Blackburn
Brilliant, emeneke is getting coated already after playing for about 20 minutes in a league he's never played in before!

Nice rest for the lads before next Sunday, so I'd play a similar team to yesterday with the exception of Carroll in for Valencia and whoever has a right foot in for byram.

Blackburn have 11 games in 36 days, and have just slipped to 19th in the table.
